Vision
We envision the culture and systems of the Inland Empire that are free of racism and racially determined inequity, with communities capable of healing those suffering from the personal and historical trauma racism has caused.
Mission
To equip the Inland Empire with information and opportunities to fight against all forms of racism.
Strategies
Our Work
CREATING SYSTEMS CHANGE:
Discrimination based on race and ethnicity takes many forms. The United States has made progress in eliminating some of the institutional, legalized racial discrimination of years past such as slavery, Jim Crow laws, “separate but equal” schools, and prohibitions on voting or owning land. These hard-fought victories deserve to be remembered and celebrated. Still, these advances are incomplete. Data on social and economic welfare show disparities between many persons of color and their white counterparts. Ask your government to pass antiracism resolutions to root out racism in your government.

COMMUNITY ACTION:
CART will distribute antiracism literature in communities that are showing symptoms of racism. This includes canvassing, advertising, and phone banking.

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT & ENGAGEMENT:
CART develops compelling youth education materials and media to empower youth to be effective antiracists and teach their peers to do the same.

SO YOU'VE NOTICED OUR LOGO...
Our logo is inspired by the Adinkra of Ghana, called the Akoben. Adinkra are symbols from Ghana that represent concepts that are often represented in logos, fabric and pottery. The meaning of the Akoben means “war horn.” It is a symbol of a call to action, readiness to be called to action, and voluntarism.
Just like the Akoben, CART is calling the Inland Empire to put action towards more racially equitable policies in efforts of dismantling racism in all of its forms.
